John and Barbara O'Neill have lived in Shevington for more than fifty years.
John has produced four booklets describing places of historical interest in the village.

• Heritage Trail 1
  Circular route from the Plough and Harrow public house, Broad o'th'Lane, Church Lane, part of Wigan Road, Old Lane, part of Shevington Lane and return to Broad o'th'Lane
• Heritage Trail 2
  Gathurst Lane from the Plough and Harrow to the railway bridge and return
• Heritage Trail 3
  Shevington Lane from Old Lane to Almond Brook Road and return
• Heritage Trail 4
  Miles Lane from Broad o'th'Lane to Back Lane and return
